Background

Michael was born in Massachusetts, growing up in a small town called Medway. He went to Medway High School where his focus was on academics, as well as soccer and basketball. After graduation, Michael attended Salve Regina University in Newport, RI where he initially majored in Biology and played soccer. Realizing that it was not the best fit for him as he enjoyed social interactions and helping people, he switched to a more all-around major in Psychology. Michael recently moved to Farmington, CT where he currently resides.

Best Part of the Job

“The best part of the job is being able to help students and families alleviate some the stress of the college admissions process. High school students, now more than ever, are overwhelmed with academic performance, test prep, extracurricular activities and social pressure that it can be challenging to begin to the college process. For me, it’s rewarding watching students get excited about the process and seeing all their hard work pay off as they get into their top schools.”

Biggest Challenge Students Face

“Time-management and consistency are some of the biggest challenges that I see students face. Time-management is key to staying on top of deadlines and being ahead of the curve. Also, staying consistent with courses and activities helps you become more comfortable and ease the stress of the teenage years.”

Advice to Students and Parents

“Start early and use all the resources available to you. Finding the perfect school doesn’t happen overnight. It begins with researching schools and finding what you’re looking for and how it can best meet your needs. I would also highly recommend visiting schools in person. There are so many pictures and video’s online about what a school looks like but it doesn’t compare going in person. Going to see a college firsthand, you can really see everything the school has to offer as well as seeing if you can envision yourself going to school there.”
