What Rebecca loves about the work
The best part of the job is building such close bonds with the students and their families. We have the opportunity to be a resource for them to rely on during an incredibly stressful period of time in their life. We have the chance to watch them mature throughout the whole process and it’s truly rewarding to watch them celebrate as they get accepted into college.
Life for a teenager can be challenging in many ways. It can be incredibly overwhelming trying to balance school, their social lives, family and the whole college selection process. The thought of picking the perfect school and what they plan to major in is terrifying. Although we can’t alleviate all of their stresses, we certainly work to help our students become organized and set clear goals to help them succeed in college and in life.
Start researching as early as possible. The college application process can be overwhelming and students shouldn’t wait until senior year to start. Starting essays and applications early and not procrastinating will ensure a more smooth application process and will help ensure the student is meeting all application deadlines. The ultimate goal for students is to find the college that is the best fit for them, where they will feel the most at home. Campus tours are one of the best ways for the student to get a feel for the school and find that right fit. Always remember; students’ desires, dreams and goals for the future are constantly changing and that is perfectly okay
